Gone is the time when people in the western world tends to wear sun glasses to protect themselves from direct sun light.  the Health care professionals & eye specialist recommends it to those people who are having problems at their sight during day time. So the common purpose of wearing sunglasses to comport the eyes for direct sun light. however there was still a group of people who use it for no medical reason. they find themselves beautiful in it.  then little by little different shades of tinted sunglasses introduced in the market. the era of 1930s reveals that sunglasses was mostly used by high class people, specially at beaches.  at that time sunglasses was expensive enough so that a common many cant afford to buy it.  but now time is changed, you can buy it from any place with cheap prices.

So as a matter of fact, sun glasses dominates in western fashion after 1950, television actors & other popular celebrities of the society are the main customers of sunglasses. different companies got fame for the most beautiful sunglasses designs. RayBan, Nike & Polaroid Sunglasses are the examples.  One the other hand it is mostly used in fashion photography as well,  you can witness it by the big bill boards at big cities where the models are commonly seen wearing sunglasses. yes! it is all time hit in fashion.
